Taking its name from "War on Waste," the Donnelly War Room
is the result of our conscious effort to focus our operations on short-run
manufacturing. The War Room also exemplifies Donnelly's ongoing commitment
to service and success.
In the War Room, cross-functional teams come together every day to set
the day's activities and assess our progress on customer projects. Customer
orders are forecast 14 days out and any roadblocks to delivering good
products on time are identified. "Projects at Risk" proactively
receive special attention and team members hold themselves accountable
for producing good results.
Why does the War Room work? Because our employees are held accountable
by their peers, not management. Solutions to short-run problems are
identified, assigned and measured by peers. And that's the key to success.
The War Room is where Donnelly's people learn from the previous day's
experiences so we can infuse change and continuously improve.
