For Immediate Release Donnelly’s Wagner to Discuss Company's Lean Best Practices at Area Workshops in November
Donnelly, a leader in short-run injection molding, has embraced many Lean best practices including Training Within Industry (TWI) - a successful method of training its workforce to identify and implement mistake-proof ideas and procedures. TWI, a highly effective segment of Lean manufacturing that was developed in the U.S. and later used in Japan, provides supervisors with the critical leadership and analytical skills needed to successfully train their team members. Donnelly’s TWI process has been featured in a number of industry publications including Quality Digest and Manufacturing Business Technology and at the annual TWI Conference. “At Donnelly, we are always delighted to share our best practices with other business people and leaders, especially here in Minnesota,” said Ron Kirscht, president of Donnelly. “It supports the importance of manufacturing and the vital role it plays in our economy. “We’ve had great success with our Lean initiatives and Sam is the ideal person to share our best practices. He has been instrumental in making them an integral part of Donnelly’s business culture.” Wagner will take part in a panel discussion sponsored by the Manufacturers Alliance on November 13 at Hennepin Technical College in the Twin Cities. The topic, “Great Ideas From Your Workforce,” will provide attendees helpful tips on how they can kick start and sustain their company’s own continuous improvement journey and encourage employees to contribute their Lean ideas to support the process. For more information, please visit www.mfrall.com. On November 19, Wagner will be speaking at the Enterprise Minnesota (formerly Minnesota Technology) workshop, “Creating Profit Through a Lean Journey,” which will be held at Open Systems, Inc. in Shakopee, MN. Attendees will learn how to successfully implement Lean in their workplace and which strategies help to make Lean a long-term solution for improving processes and systems within an organization. For more information, please visit www.enterpriseminnesota.org. Wagner joined Donnelly in October 2004 and is responsible for the identification, assessment and implementation of advanced technologies and process improvements that continue to adapt and advance Donnelly’s short-run expertise. He has been closely involved with implementations of information technologies, Lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems and automation. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering management from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University. Please contact Lisa Fernandez at (414) 274-3008 if interested in scheduling an interview with Wagner regarding TWI implementation. About Donnelly -- end -- |
