For Immediate Release Donnelly Custom Manufacturing Receives
Scotsman Ice Systems Gold Recognition Award May 10, 2004, Alexandria, MN — Scotsman Ice Systems, part of the Enodis Group, the world’s leading ice machine company, has awarded Donnelly Custom Manufacturing its 2003 Gold Recognition Award. This is the highest award granted to Scotsman Ice Systems suppliers. According to Ron Kirscht, President of Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, “Donnelly has enjoyed a strategic partnership with Scotsman Ice for the past decade. Our goal is to ensure that we deliver a compelling value – from front-end design and launch services to back-end delivery of finished parts. We are committed to serving as an integral part of the Scotsman team.” Randy Rossi, President of Scotsman Ice, shares Kirscht’s sentiments. “Donnelly is Scotsman’s sole source supplier for all of our injection-molded parts and is an extremely good partner. As partners, we act with each other’s interests in mind. We make investments in each other that result in a profitable relationship for both companies.” The award is part of Scotsman’s Supplier Recognition program that sets stringent supplier performance standards in four strategic areas: Quality, On-Time Delivery, Inventory Management and Cost Reduction. Across the board, Donnelly exceeded Scotsman’s highest performance goals with Defects Per Million of 110, On-time Delivery of 98%, and Inventory Performance of 13 Working Days. According to Scott Brown, Scotsman’s Purchasing Manager, the entire Donnelly team is demonstrating the innovative thinking and value-added services that are critical to OEM’s in today’s competitive marketplace. “They are putting their skills to work for our mutual benefit and serve a vital role in the success of Scotsman. Donnelly has achieved world-class performance levels in earning this recognition.” “Achieving a defect per million rate of 110 is challenging, particularly in short-run,” said Jim McCarthy, Donnelly Vice President – Director of Engineering Services. “The standard was applied across the organization – from customer service to manufacturing to inventory management to delivery and beyond – everything virtually error-free. Given the broad range of tooling, materials and presses, and the number of people who touch these parts –it is an accomplishment that attests to the commitment to quality of the entire Donnelly team. Earning this award is truly a team-wide effort.”Based in Alexandria, MN, Donnelly’s 220 employees are dedicated to setting the standards in the custom injection-molding marketplace for “How Short Run Is Done.” The company’s focus is on providing its OEM customers with value added engineering, and highly customized manufacturing and customer support services. A strong customer service orientation ensures that customer satisfaction levels exceed industry standards at every point of contact.
