DONNELLY NAMED FINALIST FOR
PLASTICS NEWS PROCESSOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – January 23, 2008 – Donnelly Custom Manufacturing Company has been named one of three finalists for the prestigious Plastics News Processor of the Year Award.

The award honors excellence in well-rounded plastics processors by looking at seven criteria: Financial performance, quality, customer relations, employee relations, environmental record, public service efforts and technological innovation. Although judges gave Donnelly high marks for all seven criteria, it scored especially well for customer relations and employee relations.

“Donnelly is always dedicated to delivering the exceptional service and solutions necessary to help our customers succeed,” said Ron Kirscht, president of Donnelly. “It says a lot about Donnelly to be competing with such high quality companies for this award. It is an honor to be recognized in this way for the work we do every day to help customers succeed in meeting their short-run manufacturing challenges.”

Donnelly’s winning business model is to develop strategic relationships with the right-fit customers and focusing on helping them thrive. It includes an extraordinary commitment to the ongoing development and training of its employees—the company’s greatest competitive advantage.

The result of Donnelly’s continuous healthy and positive employee relations is a better and more profitable operation. Donnelly’s short-run model and customer-intimacy has put it in the position to increase sales by an average of 12 percent every year for four years and they have reinvested $5 million back into the company during this same period.

Donnelly is competing against i2Tech of Iowa and Plastic Components Inc. of Wisconsin for the award. The winner will be announced on March 11 at the 2008 Plastics News Executive Forum in Tampa, Fla. (http://www.plasticsnews.com/forum2008/index.html). At the Forum, Kirscht will participate in a best-practices panel discussion along with senior executives from the other finalist companies.

Based in Alexandria, Minn., Donnelly’s 230 employees are dedicated to setting the standards in the custom injection-molding marketplace for “How Short Run Is Done.” The company’s focus is on providing its OEM customers with value added engineering and highly customized manufacturing and customer support services.  A strong customer service orientation ensures outstanding customer satisfaction.
