DONNELLY RECEIVES SECOND CONSECUTIVE SILVER SUPPLIER AWARD FROM MARVIN WINDOWS AND DOORS ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – December 30, 2008 – For the second consecutive year, Donnelly Custom Manufacturing Company has received the Silver Supplier award from Marvin Windows and Doors, a leading manufacturer of made-to-order wood and clad wood windows and doors. Donnelly molds short-run parts for Marvin and has been instrumental in helping them achieve excellence in employee training through its Training Within Industry (TWI) best practices. The Silver Supplier award recipients are selected based on the results from monthly supplier performance reports that evaluate each supplier’s standards of quality and delivery as well as technology and transaction accuracy. “We are pleased to be recognized once again by Marvin for supplier excellence,” said Ron Kirscht, president of Donnelly. “This type of recognition from one of our valued business partners is a testament to our continued commitment in meeting, and exceeding, customer expectations.” As with all of its customers, Donnelly goes beyond typical supplier performance metrics and is willing to share many of its best practices. One example is Donnelly’s introduction of TWI teachings to many of Marvin’s employees. TWI is a Lean process that provides supervisors with critical leadership and analytical skills to help them effectively train personnel to recommend, and implement, process improvements. Recently, Marvin Windows and Doors was recognized by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), receiving the BEST award for their commitment to employee learning. The Job Instruction teaching from TWI was a key factor in making significant improvements to the company’s new-hire orientation, resulting in a 29 percent increase in associate satisfaction with their training compared to the previous year. “Sharing our knowledge and best practices such as Training Within Industry helps us form high performance partnerships, rather than merely effective supplier relationships, with our customers,” said Kirscht. “We take pride in all our customers’ successes and look forward to our continued partnership with Marvin Windows and Doors for years to come.” Based in Alexandria, Minn., Donnelly’s 230 employees are dedicated to setting the standards in the custom injection-molding marketplace for “How Short Run Is Done.” The company’s focus is on providing its OEM customers with value added engineering, and highly customized manufacturing and customer support services. A strong customer service orientation ensures outstanding customer satisfaction.
