DONNELLY EMPLOYEES RECOGNIZED
BY CENTRAL MN APICS CHAPTER

Alexandria, Minn. – Congratulations to Dennis Paul and Darla Brink who were recently recognized by the Central Minnesota APICS Chapter. Both have been active APICS members for over 10 years and have CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) status with the organization.

Dennis PaulDennis was one of two people to be named Member of the Year by the organization at its annual awards presentation held at Michael’s Restaurant in East St. Cloud. He attended every Professional Dinner Meeting (PDM) throughout the year and was instrumental in hosting a tour of Donnelly for the organization in February. Dennis has plans to pursue CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification through APICS in the future.

“I appreciate this recognition, but more importantly, the opportunities APICS provides to help me to learn and grow as a professional - and to network with people who share that same commitment,” stated Dennis.

Darla BrinklAn inquiry from Darla helped APICS realign their PDM Certification Point Structure. Prior to Darla’s suggestion, the organization awarded just one point for any PDM that featured both a tour and a speaker. APICS members must earn a certain number of points to maintain their certification within the organization and attending PDM’s is one way to accomplish this.

Shortly after the APICS tour and speaker presentation held at Donnelly this year, Darla wondered why she couldn’t claim two points for the event since each was classified as an educational activity.

“The rules of continuing education clearly spell out that you can obtain one point per educational hour,” Darla explains. “What could be more educational than touring a plant and seeing what systems and processes have been put into practice?”

The chapter agreed with Darla’s assessment and will now award two points for PDM’s that include a tour and a speaker.

Donnelly applauds Dennis and Darla for their achievements and continued involvement with the Central MN APICS Chapter.
